If your schedule permits, please consider working with the Friends of Zonolite Park for a few hours to improve the park and garden. Plans are on completing the following:
Overseed parts of the meadow with fescue/clover
Pick up trash behind the Community Garden and throughout the park
Restore branches along sides of the trail at the back of the park
Replace the last three old garden beds that are falling apart
Replace the existing compost pile with a three bin compost system
Replant the two herb beds next to the pavilion
If you have not seen the new children's natural playscape, this is a great opportunity to see how it is progressing. Also, the yellow Butterweed plants (Packera) should be blooming around this time. If you have not seen these plants in bloom, come volunteer to see this stunning display. (See photo below.)
Friends of Zonolite Park only have a few park workdays a year, and greatly appreciate everyone's help.
Interested? Meet at the pavilion in the Community Garden at 9 am.
