WHAT WE DO

Since 2008, we have led the effort to protect habitat and connect nature trails along the banks of the South Fork of Peachtree Creek. We have completed five miles of trails and spearheaded the creation of three public parks.

Mission

CONSERVE the creek from further degradation and future environmental threats; RESTORE the creek’s habitats and waters to health; and CONNECT parks, nature preserves, and other greenspaces along the creek with nature trails to provide easy public access to the natural environment and encourage outdoor recreation and exercise.

Vision

The South Fork of Peachtree Creek and its watershed is a cleaner, greener, protected natural asset, valued by residents, local governments, schools, businesses and funders who recognize its importance to the Atlanta region’s water supply. South Fork Conservancy is well-supported and noted as a lead champion of this vital waterway and valued as a community resource, collaborator and agent of action around the creek’s care and protection.

Strategic Framework 2026-2030

Sustain Organizational Strength: Develop robust plan to maintain existing investments (capital and social) with focus on strengthening operational capacity (staff, board, contractors, volunteers) to sustain current initiatives and grow through new programs.

Deepen Community Stewardship & Partnership: Build an engaged, informed, and diverse community of creek stewards and collaborative partners.

Improve Creek Health & Watershed Resilience: Protect and restore the ecological integrity of the South Fork and its watershed, focusing on water quality, streambank restoration, and land conservation where feasible.

Provide Trail Connectivity and Creek Access: Pursue strategic new trail development and creek access points (including from Beltline to Emory) when financial and logistical feasibility, as well as community readiness are established.
