Restoring Native Plants Along Peachtree Creek

Join the South Fork Conservancy and Trees Atlanta in an exploration of native plants on an intown hiking trail along Peachtree Creek. Creekside vistas full of wildlife, chestnut planting sites and pollinator meadows will form the backdrop to this morning of outdoor science. 

The confluence of the north and south forks of Peachtree Creek in Northeast Atlanta is fast-becoming an important location for the restoration of native plant species. Our tour begins at 9:30 a.m. and lasts for one hour thirty minutes, led by guides from the South Fork Conservancy and Trees Atlanta. To reach the planting area, we first will hike approximately three quarters of a mile on the Cedar Chase/Confluence Trail, visiting both the chestnut planting sites and the pollinator meadow. Participants will hike through beautifully-restored creekside vistas full of birds and other wildlife, walk underneath the graffiti-covered walls of I-85 and view the future location of a bridge that will connect South Fork trails with the PATH400 trail to Buckhead, the Atlanta BeltLine and trails along the North Fork.

WHERE:  The Cedar Chase Trailhead, on-street parking located near 2100 Armand Rd, Atlanta, GA 30324  Please do not park beyond the entrance to the Cedar Chase Homes. Carpooling strongly advised!
