Revealing the Creek
Big things are happening at South Fork Conservancy
Together, we are creating a place where children catch their first frogs and see their first blue herons. We are restoring creeks, meadows and forests where Atlantans can slow down and reconnect with the natural world and to each other. We are celebrating a place where wildlife thrives in the midst of one of the largest cities in America. This is the South Fork. Join us.
We’ve spearhead the creation of 3 public parks and built over 5 miles of trail. Now, we’re bringing it all together.
The Confluence Bridge is the centerpiece of our new trail infrastructure. It connects people to the headwaters of Peachtree Creek, at the formerly inaccessible confluence of the North and South Fork This keystone project links South Fork trails with the BeltLine and other urban trail systems while providing equitable access to the beauty of Peachtree Creek.
Why here? The confluence is more than the intersection of the North and South Forks of the Creek. It’s also a human confluence – PATH and BeltLine trails run nearby, as do MARTA and many of Atlanta’s major roadways. The Confluence Bridge will reveal the connectivity of our waterways and act as a gateway from our urban present to Atlanta’s natural past.
